It’s important to note that the tools don’t really matter as long as you find reasonable tools, a sane approach, and you actually work through your inevitable failures.

Being Able to Write: Lessons from Other Writers, New and Well-Seasoned. Everything every writer says about writing better includes something like this:

Write a lot. If you can’t write every day, try writing several times a week.

To get better at anything it requires practice, passion, and a fanatical devotion to the pope (well, practice and passion at least).

Like most things in medical science, the effect of fats on the body is not clear (and certainly not clear in the media). The article ‘Hydrogenated Fats and Oils: Are they a health risk?‘ pours over research on the topic, showing some of the common myths and falsehoods. This stuff always disturbs me: the general wisdom appears to be almost entirely incorrect.

Another from the US-media WTF department: Why America Has to Be Fat.  I can only see the gluttony of the Americas as the central problem of humanity.  Much of the world slaves to provide for the American Dream, dreaming it as the opiate that keeps them going.  All of this while we all rape the planet, and our own balance (hence our sanity).
