HOWTO eat on the cheap in Vancouver
I’m a big fan of ramen. I eat a big bowl of it almost every day, most of the time making it myself. It’s cheap. It’s tasty. And it’s a vehicle for pretty much any vegetable (or leftover) you can chop or dice.1 I consider ramen a great hack, like an edible shell script.
If you live around Vancouver, this guy has a list of great spots to eat ramen. Or, try your local sushi shop (like my local fish monger, Sushi Bob), where they most likely serve ramen and udon (and both are Good Eats).
- Favorites include bok choy, shredded carrots, green onion, green cabbage, broccoli, seaweed, tofu, sliced meats, meatballs, hot sauce, marinara sauce, and so on. ↩
