Stuff about the site and its rather odd author
Welcome to WarpedVisions, my personal weblog and portfolio site.
Me? I’m Bruce Alderson, a software developer, writer, photographer, and artist. I enjoy life in all of its oddness and beauty, and especially including the weird and the wonderful. I believe that simplicity is possible in anything, where simple beauty is what we perceive when things fit just so. I also subscribe to the pragmatic, as simple beauty can be had by inching toward it failure by failure, where failure is really just a step toward success.
The weblog is a simple tumble of links, reviews, quotes, and essays — all aimed at learning the craft of software and life. It’s also home to a number of personal projects, creative endevours, HOWTOs, and reference materials1.
Some history
This site has been happily hosted by Dreamhost for the last 10 years, and is currently powered by WordPress (and the letter Q).2 For a brief visual history of the site, here’s a set of previous themes.
Other sites
I manage several other sites for fun and/or profit. The most interesting one at the moment is RobotPony, an irreverent, uber-geek web comic.
